Ankole Western University (AWU) Admission Requirements

The University welcomes applicants for undergraduate studies from a wide variety of educational backgrounds. These are the three avenues of entry into this University:-

Direct Entry Scheme
Diploma Holders Entry Scheme
The Mature Age / Special Entry Scheme

Direct Entry Scheme

A candidate is deemed eligible for being considered for admission to Bachelors Degree program if he/she has obtained:-

Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) or its equivalent qualification.
At least two principle passes in relevant and approved subjects at the same sitting of the Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) or an equivalent qualification.

Diploma Holders Entry Scheme

A candidate must be a Diploma holder relevant to the desired field of study from a recognized Institution of higher learning.

Mature Age / Special Entry Scheme

Candidates for the Mature Age/Special Entry Scheme must be Ugandan nationals of at least 25 years and have had formal education. Those who are successful, in both the written and the oral examination are then considered for admission.
