How To Apply for ID In Uganda

Here you will need to state whether you are a citizen by birth or by another category. Here you are asked to prove your citizenship with the relevant documents to be presented.

How To Apply For Replace ID In Uganda

This helps you to get a new national ID in case you lost or damaged the one you had before. For a lost ID, you are required to get a police report, fill a form got from NIRA offices, attach a bank receipt for payment of Ugx 50,000, and visit NIRA offices to make a replacement. For a damaged ID, you only need to fill a form, and attach a payment receipt.

Requirements For National ID Registration

An LC I letter detailing the applicant’s parents’ names, tribe, clan and this letter should be stamped by the DISO.
• Photocopy of parents National IDs if they are alive, in case they are deceased, the letter of recommendation should clearly indicate so.
• Any other supporting document like a birth certificate.

How Much Does It Cost To Get A NID Card?

The National ID card is issued free of charge for the first time but a fee of UGX 50000 is charged upon replacement of a lost, damaged or defaced card.
