Church Registration In Uganda

A church registration form is used to track membership information for a church, institution, or religious organization. This form shows an ideal use of how forms could be used for churches. An Application letter addressed to the Honorable Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs (MOIJA), through the Registrar General from the church clearly indicating the religious denomination, Location and whether the church is an affiliate of an already registered church, a recommendation letter from the mother Church.

Application For Church Registration In Uganda

Requirements Church Registration In Uganda

Filled Form A and Form D.

Copy of the Registration Certificate of the religious institution.

Copy of National Identity card or Valid Passport of the Minister to be licensed.

Coloured passport-size photo for the minister to be licensed.

For renewal, surrender of the old license.

Your church corporation’s articles of incorporation. Your church’s bylaws. Your Statement of Faith or Statement of Belief. Any other documents listed on your application.

A letter requesting for registration and a Permit to operate addressed to the Executive Director, NGO Bureau indicating; objectives, area of operation, number of years applied for not exceeding 5 (five).

Physical photographs of the church i.e. interior and exterior.

Recognized marriages celebrants and their valid identifications (Religious leaders like Pastors, Reverends, Priest and any clergy recognized by that faith).

Inspection Report from the Registrar of Marriages within the area. Evidence of payment of Uganda.

When you apply for recognition of tax-exempt status, you must submit documents that support the information you provided in your application. Some of these documents include:

Your church corporation’s articles of incorporation

Your church’s bylaws

Your Statement of Faith or Statement of Belief

Any other documents listed on your application

Cost For Church Registration In Uganda

Evidence of payment of Ug. Shs 200,000, into the consolidated fund (by way of receipt from the bank). Submit the above stated letter, attachments and proof of payment to the Registrar General. Collect the license from URSB after 5 working days.
