A power of attorney or letter of attorney is a written authorization to represent or act on another’s behalf in private affairs, business, or some other legal matter. The person authorizing the other to act is the principal, grantor, or donor. A general power of attorney allows the agent to make a wide range of decisions. This is your best option if you want to maximize the person’s freedom to handle your assets and manage your care. A limited power of attorney restricts the agent’s power to particular assets.

Procedure For Power of Attorney In Uganda

Draft the Power of attorney whether special or general, by a documentation lawyer or through a website.

Submit the power of attorney with the Sub-Registrar.

Attach the supporting documents with the power of attorney.

Attest the power of attorney before the Registrar.
