Fort Portal School of Clinical Medicine and Community Health
Fort Portal College Of Health Sciences (FPCOHES) was started in 1969 by the Ministry of Health to train Medical Assistants and the school was known as the School of Medical Assistants Fort Portal. It started from the King’s Palace but in 1971 it was transferred to its present location.
Courses Offered
Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Community Health
Each course shall be assessed in two parts as follows
- The school-based (progressive/continuous )assessment shall contribute16%
- Examinations shall contribute a maximum of 85% of the total marks. Each examination shall consist of written, OSCE/OSPE, and where applicable practical/clinical
Grading of marks
The overall marks a candidate obtains in each course he/she is offered shall be graded out of a maximum of 100 marks and assigned appropriate letter grades and grade points as follows.
