How Long Does Military Training Take In Uganda
ANSWER: It Official takes nine (9) months but if the school sees you are not yet to the level they may extend the training but not beyond 12 months

How much does a UPDF cadet earn?
The government has increased the salaries of the Uganda Peoples Defence Forces (UPDF) by 4 per cent. Under the new salary structure announced by the Ministry of Defence, the least paid soldier will earn Shs310,000, up from Shs290,000, while the top most paid officer will get Shs1,600,000, an increment from Shs1,540,000.
What are the qualifications for joining UPDF?
Eligible candidates to meet the following requirements:
MUST be a Ugandan citizen and must be in possession of an Original National Identity
MUST be healthy and medically fit; ready to undergo medical and physical body check and a road run to test endurance and body fitness.
Regular Recruits must be male and female adults between the age of 18-25 years and professionals between 18 and 30 years.
MUST be single with no children.
Regular recruits must possess a minimum formal education of S.4 (UCE) or S.6 in science subjects. Original certificates of recent three years back with school IDs are a must.
Degree/Diploma holders in medicine, chemistry, Engineering, teaching and vocational skills.
Candidates must be of good conduct with no criminal record. Letters of recommendation from LC I, LC III, and GISOs duly signed are a MUST, to confirm their conduct.
