How to Become a Banking Officer in Uganda?

Chartered Banker (CB)

(a) First Route

Bachelor’s Degree in relevant disciplines (Eligible for exemptions) OR Professional qualifications (CPA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPS, CPB) – (Eligible for exemptions) OR Masters degree (Eligible for exemptions)

(b) Second Route

Diploma OR UACE with 2 Principal passes (No exemptions)

  • Diploma In Microfinance (DMF)

Either:

(a) Uganda Certificate of Education (UACE) with 2 Principal passes and 1 subsidiary pass obtained at the same sitting or equivalent

(b) Banking Certificate

(c) Any other recognized professional qualification like CPA, ACCA or equivalent.

Certified Credit Management(CCM)

Either:

(a) Banking Certificate

(b) Certified Professional Banker (Formerly Diploma in Banking)

(c) A minimum of an Ordinary Diploma from a recognized institution

(d) Any other recognized professional qualification like CPA, ACCA, Or any other equivalent

Masters of Arts in Financial Services (MAFS)

Either:

(a) At least a 2nd class degree in Finance, Accounting, Business studies, or a degree with a strong quantitative bias

(b) A holder of a 1st degree and a Diploma in Banking/Certified Professional Banker obtained from Uganda Institute of Banking and Financial Services or Institute of Financial Services, UK

(c) A holder of a 1st degree and a recognized professional qualification in Accounting
