AJUCO Undergraduate Admission Requirements
Bachelor of Arts with Education (3 Years)
This course combines academic and professional training that leads to a Bachelor of Arts with an Education degree in Arts subjects. This three years course includes the study of two academic subjects together with professional subjects required for Teachers’ Education.
There is an emphasis on active participatory teaching methods in addition to developing practical teaching skills. Microteaching and block teaching practice form an integral part of the course. In addition, Education students also take all institutional courses. Available subjects include Linguistics, Literature, Kiswahili, Geography, and History.
Minimum Entry Requirement
- Direct entry applicants
- At least three O’level credit passes in Art subjects.
- At least two principal passes (D and above) in the appropriate Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education or its equivalent and must have grade point average of not less than 2.0 points where A = 5, B = 4, C = 3;D = 2,E = 1,S = 0.5,F = 0.
- Applicants seeking admission under the equivalent qualifications
- At least three O‘ level credit passes in relevant subjects one of which must be English language.
- Credit Pass in English at Olevel. Recognition of Prior Learning in the appropriate field.
Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication (3 Years)
The programme will run for two years,aiming at equipping students with necessary knowledge and skills that are relevant to address societal challenges using sociological techniques.
The programme provides candidates with a wide choice of career opportunities in the society such as social work, community development, social research and industrial public administration.Also this will attempts to create public opinion through providing their audiences with a realistic picture of the world, activities of the leaders, governmental policies etc. Mass media also tries to build public opinion through special articles, editorials, and commentaries. All students are required to take institutional courses.
Minimum Entry Requirement
- A Candidates should have two passes in Arts Subjects.Should be holders of the Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (ACSEE) with two principal passes in appropriate subjects and with a minimum of 2.0 points. A candidate must have at least five (5) credit passes in the Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) including English.
- Candidate must hold a relevant Diploma of at least second-class standing from an institution recognized by the University;
- Diploma in Journalism, communication, Public Relations or relevant field with a “Second Class” OR “Credit” OR “Average” OR a “B”.
- Credit pass in English at O-level.Recognition of Prior Learning in the appropriate field
Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) (3 Years)
This degree is developed to recognize that in today`s society, public relations professionals are employed in a wide variety of settings in business, government, and nonprofit organizations. The goal of the curriculum is to educate students for careers in communication-based activities in such organizations. Students are prepared not just for entry-level positions, but for advancement in their selected fields. Students are also required to take institutional courses
Minimum Entry Requirement
- Candidates should be holders of the advanced Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (ACSEE) with two principal passes in appropriate subjects at the same sitting with a minimum of 2.0 points. A candidate must have at least five (5) credit passes in the Certificate of Secondary Education (CSEE) including English. Two principal level passes both of at least a C grade if not at the same sitting;
- Candidates with an Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (ACSEE) without the necessary two principal passes must have Certificate in Journalism and Media Studies (CJMS) from any recognized institution with a minimum of B.
- Candidate Must have a Diploma in business Administration with a “Second Class” OR “Credit” OR “Average” OR a “B”.
- .Credit passesin Mathematics at O-level.
Bachelor of Laws (4 Years)
This program aims at providing theoretical knowledge, analytical and practical skills necessary to produce a society-conscious lawyer. The program strives to provide demand–driven and diverse legal training, responsive to the needs of the national and international community.
Minimum Entry Requirement
- Direct entry
- Two passes in Arts subjects.If one of the pass is not English, a Credit pass in English at O-level is Required. Certificate at credit level or Diploma at a minimum of second class level from TCU/NACTE recognized institutions with NTA Level 6 qualifications.
- Diploma in Law or the Legal profession with a “Second Class” OR “Credit” OR “Average” OR a “B“.Recognition of Prior Learning in the appropriate field.
- Diploma in law from an accredited/ recognized institution with a pass of not lower than ‘second class’ or ‘credit’ and an O-level credit pass of at least C grade in English.
- The minimum Institutional Admission Points for Form 6 is 2.0
Doctor of Medicine (5 Years)
This programme introduces the field of special needs education and produces teachers specializing in either hearing or visual impairment

- Two Principal A–Level passes at C and above PCB/CBG.
- Applicants seeking admission under the equivalent qualifications
- Diploma in Clinical Medicine or Pharmacy with a “Second Class” OR “Credit” OR “Avarage”.
- A recognition of Prior Learning in the appropriate field.
