Bachelor of Dental Surgery at Makerere University
BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery) is a 5-years undergraduate program and the only approved professional dental course in Uganda. It is a compulsory course for the students aspiring to work as dentists at government or private hospitals.
Bachelor of Dental Surgery at Makerere University Entry Requirements
Admission Requirements:
- An ordinary Level Certificate of Education or its equivalent.
- Two-advanced level passes in Biology and Chemistry taken at U.A.C.E. examination or its equivalent.
- A minimum of weighted points as shall be determined by the Admissions Board.
- Two-advanced level passes in Biology and Chemistry taken at U.A.C.E. examination or its equivalent. The candidate must have done Physics/Mathematics at the same sitting of U.A.C.E. Examination and obtained at least a subsidiary pass in either. Any other subject is weighted appropriately.
- A minimum of weighted points as shall be determined by the Admissions Board.
Mature Age Entry Scheme:
To qualify for admission under this scheme a candidate must pass the appropriate Mature Age Entrance Examinations set and marked by Makerere University.
Diploma entry:
To qualify for admission under this scheme a candidate must possess a Diploma/certificate in one of the following approved disciplines provided they passed Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Mathematics at (ii above) Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education:
