Bulongwa Health Sciences Institute is owned by SOUTH CENTRAL DIOCESE of Evangelical Lutheran Church in Tanzania (ELCT).
The institute was registered by NACTE on 7th September 2004, and in 2015 the Institute was fully accredited.
The aim of this institute is to produce committed and competent health workers, who will be promoting health, providing health services to persons in need, and preventing health problems of the community in any setting.
Bulongwa Health Sciences Institute is located in the Njombe region (formally Iringa region) at Makete District, 22 kilometers south of Headquarters within the Bulongwa Lutheran Hospital premises.
The Institute and the community around it are landing on top of the beautiful Livingstone Mountains. The environment is cool with a long rain season from Mid. October to May which makes nature green and flourishing for the whole year. Mosquitoes and flies are difficult to find. The environment is calm and quiet which favors learners to learn comfortably.
The distance from Njombe is about 136km south and from Mbeya 120km west. The community can enjoy the views of Lake Nyasa on the South from the top of these mountains and shortly visit Kitulo plateaus about 25km northwest.

Entry Requirements
Diploma in Dental TherapistA pass in ordinary level secondary school for the following subjects: Biology C, Chemistry D, Physics D, Mathematics D and English D will be eligible.
Diploma in Clinical MedicineA pass in ordinary level secondary school for the sciences subjects of Biology C, Chemistry C and Physics D, English D and Mathematics D.
Certificate Nursing And MidwferyA pass in Biology C, Chemistry C, Physics D, and English D. Also a pass in Mathematics is an added Advantage
Certificate in Clinical AssistantsA pass in Biology D, Chemistry D, Physics D, Mathematics D and English D.
Community HealthA pass in four subjects including BIOLOGY, EXCEPT RELIGIOUS SUBJECTS.
