Challenges Of Civil Registration In Uganda
Civil registration is the continuous, permanent, compulsory and universal recording of the occurrence and characteristics of vital events and identity documents are a right packed as requirement to all social service. Civil registration is the system by which a government records the vital events of its citizens and residents. The resulting repository or database has different names in different countries and even in different country.
The primary purpose of civil registration is to establish the legal documents required by law. Purpose Of Civil Registration In Uganda

Birth records present many facts about an individual such as the person’s name, date and place of birth, parents, religion, and citizenship, among others.

The Law For Civil Registration In Uganda
Civil Register. – A civil register is established for recording the civil status of persons, in which shall be entered: (a) births; (b) deaths; (c) marriages; (d) annulments of marriages; (e) divorces; (f) legitimations; (g) adoptions; (h) acknowledgment of natural children; (i) naturalization; and (j) changes of name.
