Drainage Services means the collection, storage, pumping and monitoring of sanitary, storm and combined wastewater streams by any means and services related to or incidental to such services. A ‘drainage system’ can include anything from gutters and drains in houses to remove rainwater, stormwater systems to drain rainwater from roads into roadside drains and drainage systems to remove sewage from houses into municipal ‘sewers’ for disposal.

The flow of water through well-defined channels is known as drainage and the network of such channels is called a “drainage system”. The drainage system of an area is the outcome of the geological time period, nature and structure of rocks, slope, topography, amount of water flowing and the periodicity of flow. To calculate the volume of water that needs to be stored, multiply the amount of runoff from each drainage zone by 15. The runoff for each zone was in gallons per minute. Multiplying by 15 minutes leaves you with the amount of gallons to be stored.
The removal of excess water either from the ground surface or from the rootzone, is called drainage. Excess water may be caused by rainfall or by using too much irrigation water, but may also have other origins such as canal seepage or floods. In very dry areas there is often accumulation of salts in the soil. Drainage ensures that the soil is properly aerated. If you have excess or standing water it can choke your crops. Drainage reduces soil and nutrient loss from runoff and can help avoid soil erosion.
The most common causes of blocked drainage systems are: Buildup of household materials such as soap, hair, food, and fat in the pipes that solidify in external pipes. Piling up of objects such as leaves and dirt that get pushed into gutters and drains by rain and storms. Tree roots entering broken pipes.
