Contrary to popular opinion, brakes help you go quicker! Your aim is to slow the kart down to a speed that the kart can corner without losing grip – in the shortest possible time. This means ‘squeezing’ on the brakes enough to slow the kart quickly, but not so hard that the back steps out.

Most karts max out around 40-50mph, while this is a maintained speed that is safe and as controlled as you can be. It’s a speed that is comfortable in the sense of you wont fly off the track, and hurt other racers or patrons. At LVGP ours max out at around 45mph.
Do you brake when go-karting In Uganda?
Unlike a real car, the brakes on the kart are only on the rear wheels. It’s just one of the reasons why you should be braking hard instead of softly when you approach a corner. When you approach the apex of a turn, you should gradually release the brake before coming off it and accelerating.
Should you brake while turning in karting In Uganda?
Because if you go into a corner faster than your kart is capable of cornering, you’ll lose time and momentum. Karts, like all racing machines, only have a finite amount of grip.

Yes, definitely. Choose something that isn’t restrictive and will be comfortable when you’re sat in the kart. Our venues are indoors, so be aware, it can get quite warm when you’re on the track. A t-shirt with jeans or joggers is ideal.
Do you shift gears in karting In Uganda?
To my surprise, all go-karts have gears. So, it all comes down to what type of transmission each kart has. Go-karts that have automatic transmissions will change gears depending on the RPM of the engine, while in manual transmissions, the racer changes the gears.
How tall can you be to fit in a go-kart In Uganda?
While most tall people can drive go-karts, some tracks have a maximum height limit ranging from 6′ 4” to 6′ 7” (193-200cm). If you’re a bit shorter than that, you might still feel uncomfortable when karting, especially if your legs are crammed inside the go-kart.
