What Is Online Passport
With the online passport personalised, citizens leaving or entering the country can freely do so without necessarily interacting with immigration officers using e-gates. The government of Uganda will soon be installing automated e-gates at Entebbe airport.
How To Apply For Online Passport In Uganda
- Register through the Passport Seva Online Portal.
- Login to the Passport Seva Online Portal with the registered Login Id.
- Click “Apply for Fresh Passport/Re-issue of Passport” link.
- Fill in the required details in the form and submit.
- Click on Passport Office.
- Click on Apply.
- Enter your credentials when the Sign In appears.
- After successfully signing in, you will be redirected to the passport page.
- Click on “My Applications”
- Click on “Uncompleted Applications”
- Click on the form there.
- Fill the various sections of the form.
How Do I Know If My Online Passport Is Ready?
Access the Online Passport Status System to check your application status. You may not be able to get a status update for 2 weeks after you apply or renew. During these weeks, your application and supporting documents are safely on their way to us.
How Many Days Will Take To Get An Online Passport?
When a normal application is filed, the passport is issued to the applicant within 30-45 days.

- Photo passbook of running bank account in any public sector bank, private sector bank and regional rural banks.
- A voter ID card.
- Aadhaar card.
- Electricity bill.
- Rent agreement.
- Driving license.
- PAN card.
- Landline or postpaid mobile bill.

Can We Apply Passport Offline?
You can apply for a passport either online (www.passports.go.ug.), by submitting the passport application form on the passport website, or offline, by submitting the form at any of the below centers. Note Only applications for fresh / new passports can be submitted.
How Long Does It Take To Get A New Passport Online?
Online renewals take around 10 working days to process. If you are applying by post, you should allow at least 8 weeks for your application to be processed (not including postage times).
