What Is Student Pass?

Student Pass means a serially numbered, magnetically encoded pass that has printed thereon, among other things, the words “Student Pass” and the period for which it is valid. SEPTA will issue Student Passes for each week of the Academic Year in which classes are in session.

Where to apply: the visas are available online through the Immigration portal.

  1. Valid Student ID Card
  2. Passport Copy (Bio Data Page) with at least 6 months’ validity
  3. Recent Passport-size Photograph
  4. Support Letter from School
  5. Admission letter from school
  6. Proof of payment of fees
  7. Current immigration status (visa or previous pass)
  8. Where the child is below 18 years, immigration status and identification of the parent/guardian

Steps For Student Pass In Uganda Application

  • Step 1: Log into the Immigration Portal and select start new application
  • Step 2: Accept the terms and conditions displayed in the Disclaimer.
  • Step 3: Select the visa or permit type, category and sub category
  • Step 4: Complete the application form
  • Step 5: Upload the required documents; a six-digit application ID eg. (234790123) is automatically generated as the reference number
  • Step 6: Make payment for applications that require prepayment.
  • Step 7: Upon approval, for application that don’t require top up payment, an approval letter will be generated and emailed to the applicant on the home page
  • Step 8: Upon approval, make a top up payment for applications that require a top up payment. After payment an approval letter is generated and emailed to the client
  • Step 9: Report to the immigration office/ border for biometric capture with all documents uploaded, payment receipts, approval letter and passport

Fees To Apply For Student Pass In Uganda

Ugx 358319.50 and this is payable at the point of application. This is a standard fee for any period that has been granted. East African nationals are exempted from this fee.

How Much Should I Pay For A Student Pass?

Issuance fee for Student’s Pass and a Ugx 107495.85 for Multiple Journey Visa (if applicable) are payable via Internet Banking, AMEX, a Visa or MasterCard credit/debit card online. If you are holding a Student’s Pass in Singapore, the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) allows you to work if you meet their specific requirements.

How Long Is Student Pass Process?

The processing time for a new Student’s Pass application is within one month (and within two weeks for an EduTrust-accredited PEI) (excluding the date of submission). Some applications may take longer time to process.

Can Student Pass Be Extended?

Students who require an extension of the Student’s Pass beyond the initial course duration may submit an application to renew the Student’s Pass, at least one month before the expiry.

What Is Dependent Pass In Uganda?

The dependant pass is granted to children (less than 18 years), spouse and other relatives of a foreign resident with proof of legal stay (student pass, work permit, certificate of residence) in Uganda.

What Is Special Pass In Uganda?

This is a temporary pass that allows one to work on short contract, obtain medical treatment, tourism and exploring business opportunities etc. Where to apply: available online through the Immigration portal.

How Can I Transfer My Pass To Another Company?

Pass holders will need to get their prospective employer to apply for a new S Pass. There is no need to cancel the existing pass before doing so. Each application will be considered based on the merits of the case.
