How To Borrow Data On Airtel In Uganda
In hard times where you have zero balance on all your Airtel accounts and you’re in need of data or airtime, Airtel allows you to borrow and pay later.
Airtel Uganda allows its customers to borrow data bundles and airtime that they can pay at a later time. This was introduced in that if a customer has zero balance on their mobile money or airtime and they are in much need to contact/reach someone, they have now the power to borrow from Airtel.
This can help you in these times of Covid-19 and lockdowns,
Unlike other services like Airtel, where you incur an interest, with borrowing data or airtime, you don’t. You on the other hand don’t get payment deadlines, and so you can pay back at any time by crediting your account. However, to be eligible to borrow, you have to meet the telco’s minimum standards that are often maxed at having an active account for the past 3 months.
Below how to Borrow Data On Airtel In Uganda
Choose the reply 3 to Borrow Airtel Data.
Now, choose the amount of data you want to borrow.
If you choose any one of the options, the amount of data that you can borrow are,
10MB for #50,
50MB for #100, and.
200MB for #200.
When you dial *143*1#, Airtel will decide on how many data bundles to give you (I guess depending on how often you use their services and how much you spend).
The denominations are 10, 25, 60, and 120MB. The prices are not indicated. So, Airtel will decide on how much to charge you.
For instance, when I borrowed 25MB, I was charged Shs326.
Alternatively, you can use the ‘Beraako’ route to borrow data bundles from Airtel Uganda by dialing *100#, then pick option 4, then option 2. The rest will be about following prompts.
How can I borrow data from Airtel without paying back?
- for Etisalat, dial *665*amount#
- for Glo, dial *321#, MTN *606#,
- for Airtel, dial *500*amount#.
How can I get 5GB data in Airtel?
- Go to the My Coupons section in the Airtel Thanks App.
- There you can find the coupons having your unique Airtel 5GB free data number.
- Now, click on the “Redeem” option available at the coupon.
- Soon, 1GB of data will get credited to your account.
