There is a term called “express penalty defaulter”, this is a term used for the person whose vehicle has more series of fines attached with their vehicles. There are cases where the policeman or traffic police takes the license plate or the number plate of the vehicle, on whom there are series of fines are there.

  1. Open the URA website www.ura.go.ug.
  2. click e-services.
  3. Under Payments, click Payment Registration.

How Do I Pay My Express Penalty?

Option 1: On your Mobile, send EPS text message to 8888. It should be like this! Enter 8888 as the number to send the message to and type EPS followed by your car number eg EPS UAX000Z and send it to 8888 (SMS charges apply).

6. At the bottom of the page, please select the mode of payment. You can pay Online and mobile Payment: Now you can make payment.

How To Pay Police Express Penalty Using MTN Mobile Money?

  • Dial *185*4*5# and press Ok.
  • Select option 1, URA.
  • Choose option 1.
  • Select option 1 again.
  • Enter the offense code.
  • Fill in the Reference number.
  • Enter Car plate number.
  • Key in Traffic officer’s number (optional).
  • Enter driving permit number.
  • Confirm with mobile money pin.

How To Pay Police Express Penalty Using Airtel Money?

  • Dial *185# OK
  • Input 4 for “Pay Bill” and tap Send
  • Input 7 for “URA” and tap Send
  • Input 1 for “Pay Registered” and tap Send
  • Enter “Payment Registration Number” and tap Send
  • Enter “PIN” and tap Send
