Kuluva School of Nursing is a Private Not for Profit (PNFP) training institution owned by Church of Uganda Madi and West Nile Diocese, managed under the Ministry of Education and Sports and supported by the Uganda Protestant Medical Bureau (UPMB) and the Ministry of Health.
History
Kuluva School of Nursing started the training of Nursing Assistants in 1985. In 1988, the training of Midwifery Assistants, Community Health Assistants and Vaccinators commenced.
The training was for the indigenous secondary school leavers who lived around the area and this was to alleviate the Staffing shortage that existed in the hospital.
In October 1992, the school physical structure was in place, inspected and accredited by the Uganda Nurses and Midwives Council for the training of Certificate in Nursing.
Classes commenced in May 1993 and continued until November 2004, when the training of Certificate in Comprehensive Nursing (CCN) was introduced and Enrolled Nursing was phased out.
The sixth ECN group graduated in November.
