How do I start a community organization in Uganda?
Register with the District Local Government
- Go to the district local government of the area of intended operation;
- Register the organization.
- The District Local Government then issues a Certificate of Registration that authorizes the organization to operate.
What qualifies as a CBO?
Community-Based Organization (CBO means a public or private nonprofit organization that is representative of a community or significant segments of a community and engaged in meeting that community’s needs in the areas of social, human, or health services.
