What Should I Know About Churches Licensed To Conduct Marriages In Uganda?
It is therefore a legal requirement that to lawfully contract a marriage in a place of worship, the place of worship must be licensed and the officiating minister of the church must be a recognised one who may be; (a Priest for the Catholic Faith, Reverand for the Church of England or Pastor for Pentecostal churches.

Do You Need A Registrar At A Church Wedding In Uganda?
If you get married in any Church, you won’t need to give notice at your local registrar office unless you’re subject to immigration controls.
What Is The Difference Between Marriage In A Registry Office And A Church In Uganda?
While church weddings are usually set in churches with vicars, a civil ceremony is set in a non-religious setting with registrars. This doesn’t mean it’s not a proper marriage, it’s still completely legal and you have a marriage certificate and everything else. There’s just no religious involvement at all.
