List Of Post Bank Branches In Uganda

PostBank Uganda has been in existence since 1926. It started out as a department in the Post Office. In February 1998 PostBank Uganda Limited was incorporated in accordance with the Communications Act of 1997 to take over the operations of the former Post Office Savings department.

PostBank Uganda was incorporated under the Companies Act in February 1998 as a limited liability company. The bank’s operations are supervised by the Bank of Uganda under the Financial Institutions Act. Before December 2021, it is classified as a Tier II Institution (Non-Bank Credit Institution), by the Bank of Uganda (BOU). That month, it received a Tier I banking license rom BOU.

PostBank Uganda is wholly owned by the Government of Uganda

How do I withdraw money from my Postbank?

How to withdraw funds from your Posbank account to MPESA using USSD Code

  1. On your mobile phone, head over to the dialer app and type: *498#
  2. Proceed with the prompts to withdraw.
  3. You should receive a reference number on your mobile phone, note it somewhere and start the process a fresh. Dial *498# again and insert the reference number you received in the earlier step
  4. Enter your new PIN and confirm,
  5. On successful activation, Dial “498” again and choose available mobile banking options

On your mobile phone, access MPESA menu and choose “Lipa Na Mpesa”

Then tap on “Pay Bill”

Enter the Postbank business number 200999

On the next page, key in Your Full Postbank Account Number as the “Account Number

Enter the amount you wish to deposit then

Put your Mpesa PIN Number and confirm the transaction.

You should see the transaction details on your phone screen, after you’ve confirmed the details are correct, proceed to complete the transaction.
