What is the role of Veta in Tanzania?

The overall objective of the establishment of VETA is to oversee the Vocational Education and Training (VET) system in Tanzania. It is charged with the responsibilities of promoting, coordinating, providing, regulating and financing VET in the Country.

What is the structure of TVET in Tanzania?

TVET) is among the five (5) Education subsectors in Tanza- nia. It is composed of Technical Education and Training (TET) and Vocational Education and Training (VET). TET and VET form a ten (10) level qualifications framework whereby VET takes the lowest three levels i.e., Level 1 – 3. TET begins from Levels 4 – 10.

Why is vocational training important in Tanzania?

Vocational training develops skills of the individual human being culminating into the accumulated knowledge and technical skills that are needed for national development. Skilled personnel constitute the most important resource for national development.
