Makerere University Graduation Requirements

Makerere University Graduation Requirements 2022 – see details below:

Graduands are required to have successfully cleared with their Academic Units, Halls of Residence, as well as the University Library, Hospital, Police Station and Finance Department.

Invitation Cards

Each graduand is allowed one invitation card for two of his/her selected guests only. Graduands will be required to submit the names of the two guests they wish to invite for the ceremony and thereafter their invitation cards will be issued. Cards and graduation booklets will be collected from the Senate Building beginning 13th February.

Gown for Undergraduates

Please purchase the Mak Customised Gown at Shs. 75,000/= at the basement of Senate Building

Graduation Fees

Graduands shall be required to pay graduation fees as detailed below

Undergraduate Graduation 40,000= Certificate 30,000= Transcript 30,000= Convocation 10,000= Total Shs 110,000/=Postgraduates (Masters and Postgraduate Diplomas) Graduation Fee 40,000= Certificate Fee 30,000= Transcript Fee 30,000= Convocation Fee 10,000= (To be paid by graduands who have not yet attained a degree at Makerere University) Total Shs 100,000/= (Non Members of Convocation pay 110,000/=)Doctor of PhilosophyBy Coursework and Dessertation Graduation 40,000= Cylinder 50,000= Certificate 30,000= Transcript 30,000= Total Shs 150,000/=By Research Graduation 40,000= Cylinder 50,000= Certificate 30,000= Total Shs 120,000/= For International students(Both Undergraduate and Postgraduate) the fee should be an equivalent of US $ 130 Graduation $60 Certificate $30 Transcript $30 Convocation $10 Total $130
