Our services are very affordable. We also accept National hospital Insurance(NHIF) Cards in some of our clinics. At our clinics we can help with contraception, STI testing and treatment, cervical screening, pregnancy testing, abortion advice, PMS, menopause, HPV vaccinations, and advice for other sexual and reproductive health issues including what to do if you’ve had unprotected sex.
A doctor uses gentle suction to remove the pregnancy from the uterus. The procedure takes between 5–15 minutes and is usually performed under intravenous sedation. Surgical abortion involves dilating the opening to the uterus (cervix) and placing a small suction tube into the uterus. Some women experience an episode of heavy bleeding and cramps four to six days after the procedure. Call the UCSF Center for Pregnancy Options if bleeding is prolonged or extremely heavy. Blood-tinged discharge is common as bleeding slows.
