How much does an Officer Cadet earn in Uganda?
The government has increased the salaries of the Uganda Peoples Defence Forces (UPDF) by 4 percent. Under the new salary structure announced by the Ministry of Defence, the least paid soldier will earn Shs310,000, up from Shs290,000, while the top most paid officer will get Shs1,600,000, an increment from Shs1,540,000.

According to the new Uganda army salary scale that is yet to be established, the least paid army officer (Private) will be paid Ugx 1,500,000 per month ($394.73) while the highest paid will receive around 12,500,000 Ugx ($3289.47) per month.
How much do police officers earn per month in Uganda?
Wunyi said the lowest police officers are earning sh475,000, while Special Police Constables earn sh325,000 each. If the 40% salary enhancement Parliament has proposed is implemented, it means that the lower police officer, who is currently earning sh475,000 will have their salary increased by sh190,000 to sh665,000.
