Requirements For Church Registration In Uganda

A church registration form is used to track membership information for a church, institution, or religious organization. This form shows an ideal use of how forms could be used for churches. An Application letter addressed to the Honorable Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs (MOIJA), through the Registrar General from the church clearly indicating the religious denomination, Location and whether the church is an affiliate of an already registered church.

NPCs are entities that are set up to help people, protect the environment or to lobby for some good cause. They could include churches, charity organisations and cultural organisations. The primary objective of an NPC is to benefit the public, not to make profit. Submit your organization’s legal name and articles of incorporation to your Secretary of State. Your ministry’s name identifies your ministry and what it stands for. Use a nonprofit search engine to make sure your name isn’t already taken. Or, your Secretary of State can perform the search for a small fee.

Under the provision of the Places of Worship Registration Act 1855, a congregation may apply for a certified building of worship by applying to the Superintendent Registrar in the district where the venue is situated. Most churches and other organisations wholly or mainly for public religious worship do not have to register with the Charity Commission, although the commission still regulates them.
