Sokoine University of Agriculture 2nd Window Of Application For The Year 2023/2024 Admission Cycle Is Now Open
Sokoine University of Agriculture in Tanzania invites Applications from qualified candidates for admission to the Undergraduate (degree and non-degree) Programs for the academic year 2023/2024.
Form four, form six, and diploma graduates with required performances detailed under each program are encouraged to apply.
Applicants with special needs/cases (disability) are encouraged to apply and advised to indicate their special needs. The second Application Window opens on 25th August 2023 and close on 6th September 2023.
A. SPECIFIC ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS FOR DEGREE PROGRAMMES COLLEGE OF AGRICULTURE
1. BSc. Agriculture General: Two principal passes (4 points) in Biology and one of the subjects: Chemistry, Physics, Geography, or Agriculture.
OR Diploma in Agriculture with an average of “B” or a minimum GPA of 3.0. In addition, an applicant must have a minimum of “D” grade in two science subjects at O-Level.
Tuition fees: TZS 1,263,000/= for Tanzanians; USD 3100 for international students; Duration: 3 years; Admission capacity: 130 for direct entry and 40 for Equivalent.
2. BSc. Horticulture: Two principal passes (4 points) in Biology and one of the subjects: Chemistry, Physics, Advanced Mathematics, Geography, or Agriculture.
OR Diploma in General Agriculture, Horticulture with an average of “B” or a minimum GPA of 3.0. In addition, an applicant must have a minimum of “D” grade in two science subjects at O-Level. Tuition fees: TZS 1,263,000/= for Tanzanians; USD 3100 for international students; Duration: 3 years; Admission capacity: 140 for direct entry and 60 for Equivalent.
3. BSc. Agronomy: Two principal passes (4 points) in Biology and one of the following subjects: Chemistry, Agriculture, Physics, or Geography OR Diploma in Agriculture, Agro-mechanization with an average of “B” or a minimum GPA of 3.0. In addition, an applicant must have a minimum of “D” grade in two science subjects at O-Level.
Tuition fee: TZS 1,263,000/= per annum and USD 3100 for international students; Duration: 3 years; Admission capacity: 80 for direct entry and 20 for equivalent.
4. BSc. Human Nutrition: Two principal passes (4 points) in Chemistry and one of the following subjects: Biology, Home Economics, Agriculture, Nutrition, Advanced Mathematics, Physics or Geography OR Diploma in Human Nutrition, Home Economics, Food Science, Nursing, Biomedical, Laboratory Technology, Community Development or Clinical Medicine with an average of “B” or a minimum GPA of 3.0. In addition, an applicant must have a minimum of “D” grade in Biology two science subjects at O-Level.

5. BSc. Family and Consumer Studies: Two principal passes (4 points) in the following subjects: Chemistry, Biology, Home Economics, Agriculture, Nutrition, Advanced Mathematics, Physics, or Geography. OR Diploma in Human Nutrition, Home Economics, Food Science, Nursing, Community Development, Biomedical, Laboratory Technology, or Clinical Medicine, with an average of “B” or a minimum GPA of 3.0. In addition, an applicant must have a minimum of “D” grade in four subjects at O-Level except Religious subject. Tuition fee: TZS 1,263,000/= per annum and USD 3100 for international students;
Duration: 3 years; Admission capacity: 100 for direct entry and 20 for equivalent.
6. BSc. Animal Science: Two principal passes (4 points) in Biology and either in Chemistry, Physics or Agriculture. OR Diploma in Animal Husbandry, Animal Health Agriculture, or other related fields with an average of “B” or a minimum GPA of 3.0. In addition, an applicant must have a minimum of “D” grade in two science subjects at O-Level.

7. BSc. Aquaculture: Two principal passes (4 points) in Biology and one in the following subjects: Agriculture, Chemistry, Physics or Geography. OR Diploma in Aquaculture, Fisheries, Natural Sciences, Animal Husbandry, Animal Production, Wildlife, Animal Environmental Health, or Agriculture with an average of “B” or a minimum GPA of 3.0.
In addition, an applicant must have a minimum of “D” grade in two science subjects at O-Level. Tuition fee: TZS 1,263,000/= per annum and USD 3100 for international students; Duration: 3 years; Admission capacity: 200 for direct entry and 40 for equivalent
8. BSc. Range Management: Two principal passes (4 points) in the following subjects: Biology, Agriculture, Chemistry, Physics, Advanced Mathematics or Geography OR Diploma in Range Management, Animal Husbandry and Production, Animal Health, Agriculture, Forestry, or Wildlife Management with an average of “B” or a minimum GPA of 3.0. In addition, an applicant must have a minimum of “D” grade in two science subjects at O-Level.
Tuition fee: TZS 1,263,000/= per annum and USD 3100 for international students; Duration: 3 years; Admission capacity: 184 for direct entry and 36 for equivalent.
