MASTERS’ BY RESEARCHThe MMS is Research-based, building on the coursework at the Postgraduate Diploma level obtained at UMI. Applicants must have passed the Postgraduate Diploma with at least a Second class.

TAUGHT AND CONTINUED RESEARCH BASED MASTERS PROGRAMMES (WEEKEND)ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS FOR DIRECT MASTERS: Applicants shall be Holders of a Bachelor’s degree from an Institution of higher learning recognized by NCHE OR a Professional Chartered qualification equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree, and working experience of at least one year.

MASTERS’ WITH PRE-ENTRY EXAMINATION

An honors Bachelor’s Degree from an Institution of higher learning recognized by NCHE or a Professional qualification equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized professional body

Working experience of one year

Mandatory passing of a GMAT.

POSTGRADUATE DIPLOMA COURSES

A good degree from a recognized University, OR a Professional Chartered qualification equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree, and working experience of at least one year.

Participants who complete the Postgraduate Diploma courses with at least a second class can proceed to do research for the Master’s Degree. In effect, the Postgraduate Diploma constitutes the first year of the Master’s Degree programme.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS FOR DIPLOMAS:

Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) with at least one Principal Pass and Two Subsidiaries AND Uganda Certificate of Education

(UCE) with at least 5 Passes or a two-year certificate course from a recognized Institute.

 HOW TO APPLY

  2. Submit applications online for admission through the student portal (https://admissions.umi.ac.ug)
  3. Scan and upload academic documents in one PDF file that will be attached after filling out the Form
  4. A non-refundable application fee of Shs.40,000/= for Ugandans, and East African applicants or $26 or equivalent for international students per set.
  5. Signup using your Full Name, E-mail, and Mobile Phone Number, please note that your name must be similar to the one on your supporting academic documents for your application to be considered valid.
  6. A password will be sent to both your e-mail and mobile phone number.
  7. The system will prompt you to change the password to the one you can easily remember.
  8. To fill out a form the applicant clicks on the APPLY NOW button displayed on the running scheme.
  9. Obtain a payment advice slip by clicking on the “Pay for Form” button
  10. Successful applicants will receive their admission letters via their student portal
