Maracha District, found in the North-Western region lies 560 km north of Kampala on the Arua –Koboko highway and shares boarders with Yumbe in the North east, Koboko to the North, democratic republic of Congo to the west and Arua to the south and east.
The district, with a total area of 441 sq km is home to 186,176 (2014 census) people who are spread within the one county , seven sub-counties namely Nyadri, Yivu, Tara, Oluffe, Kijomoro, Oleba, Oluvu and Maracha Town Council . maracha district comprises 42 parishes and 411 villages.
The district has its headquarters in Nyadri, which also acts as the seat of the town council and the police headquarters. This predominatly agricultural district grows food crops such as cassava , beans groundnuts among others. Maracha District vision and mission Statements;
