Arua School of Comprehensive Nursing is a Government founded health training institution. It is located 530 kilometers from Kampala in North Western Region (Nile) of Uganda, in Arua District within Arua Municipality Eastern side and adjacent to Arua Regional Referral Hospital.

Diploma Comprehensive Nursing (DCN)
AIM
To Train a multi-skilled Nurse who is able to provide promotive, preventive, curative and rehabilitative services in the minimum health care package at all levels of health service delivery with emphasis at the lower levels.
General Objectives of the Programme
By the end of the course, the trainees will be able to;Acquire knowledge, attitudes, skills and values for comprehensive nursing careCarry out practical nursing procedures at all levels of health care deliveryIdentify and manage common health problems in the community and at any health facilityManage and maintain health unitTrain and supervise community based health workersInitiate change to promote the quality of life in the communitySeek opportunities for continued growth as a professional and a citizen
Entry Requirements
A candidate shall be eligible for the Diploma in Comprehensive Nursing (DCN) conversion programme if he/she has been enrolled with Uganda Nurses and Midwives Council and should have worked at least two years as;Enrolled General Nurse or Midwifery or Psychiatric Nurse or Comprehensive NurseShould at least be in possession of O’ Level certificatePass a pre-entry Ministry of Education and sports oral and written interview
Duration of the Course
The course duration shall be 18 months and not more than two and half years
Age Limit
The Age limit shall be below 45 years
