Islamic University in Uganda Faculty of Law

Faculty of law is among the seven faculties of the Islamic University in Uganda, established as a department in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASS) at the main campus in September 2004. The faculty had 27 students at the time both in day and evening programs and currently, the total number of students in the three campuses (Mbale, Kabojja and Kampala) is 1,414.

Courses Offered

Bachelor of Laws (Evening)(05301) is offered by Faculty of Law

Duration: 4 Years

Minimum Entry Requirements: ‘O’ level certificate with a minimum of 5 passes plus 2 principal passes at ‘A’ level or a relevant Diploma from a recognized institution. An applicant must have a pass in English language either at ‘O’ level or in General paper at ‘A’ level.

Admission Requirement

Minimum Entry Requirements: ‘O’ level certificate with a minimum of 5 passes plus 2 principal passes at ‘A’ level or a relevant Diploma from a recognized institution. An applicant must have a pass in English language either at ‘O’ level or in General paper at ‘A’ level.

General minimum entry requirements
1.For the undergraduate degree programmes, applicants should have either:
– At least 5 passes at O’ level (UCE)
– At least 2 principal passes at A’level (UACE)
– A Diploma qualification from a recognized institution of Higher Learning; or,
– A pass in Mature Age Examinations.
2.For Diploma programmes, the applicant should have either:
– At least 5 passes at O’level (UCE)
– At least 1 Principal pass at A’ level (UACE) plus 2 subsidiary passes; or,
– The equivalent of the above.
3.For postgraduate Degree and Diploma programmes;
– First degree from a recognized university
4.Certificate Courses;
– O’ level certificate with at least 3 principle passes or A’ level certificate with at least 2 subsidiaries. Note: there are specific entry requirement for every programme a student would wish to pursue at the Islamic University in Uganda.
