Mount Saint Mary’s College Namagunga

Mt. St. Mary’s College is a girls’ boarding school for ‘O’ and ‘A’ levels.  It was founded in 1942 by Mother Kevina of the Franciscan Missionary Sisters for Africa, a congregation of nuns originating in Ireland.  The school is located in  Kyaggwe County in Mukono district, 44 Km East of Kampala along Kampala Jinja High way.

Academics

St. John Paul II summarized education as, clearly and simply as “learning to think rigorously, so as to act rightly and to serve humanity better.” We strive at all times to instil integrity and virtue in all the students alongside the good academic knowledge, education from Mt.St. Mary’s College Namagunga caters for quality, moral values for sustainable individual and societal development. Education with us is not all about grades, but the general human formation in diverse life spheres through academic knowledge to virtue.

Mt. St. Mary’s College Namagunga welcomes all girls (from P7 and S4) to study, grow and thrive at the best girls’ school in the country to pursue still what St. John Paul II called “the selfless search for truth and for the wisdom that comes from above,” regardless of one’s faith.

At Mt. St. Mary’s College Namagunga, Uganda’s first all-girls’ boarding and still the best girls’ secondary school, the search for truth across disciplines, and every continent ranging from academics to all-round human formation. Founded in 1942, we offer the National Curriculum. The school offers a wide curriculum so as to provide a balanced education for the girls and wider opportunities in career options.
