Nkumba University School of Law Courses Offered
The School of Law trains Law graduates and its component, the Institute of Criminal Justice, trains Criminal Justice graduates.
The kind of graduate Nkumba Law School is striving to produce is one who would adhere to the motto of Nkumba University –“I OWE YOU.”
The Lawyer has to be one like the early Roman lawyer, who would put service to his/her client and society at large first, rather than being merely a money chaser; law graduates answering the needs of their immediate environment; the country of their operations, the East Africa Region; with the revived and expanding co-operation among the Eastern Africa States.
The criminal Justice graduate has to be that one who responds to societal needs of preventing and managing crime.
Nkumba University aims at producing graduates capable of meeting the demands of the global village, with all the growing international commercial activities and the issues disturbing international law and order. The programmes in the School and the Institute of Criminal Justice have a minimum duration of 4 and 3 years and a maximum of 6 and 5 years respectively.
