St. Lawrence University (SLAU) Admission

Overview

St. Lawrence University was founded in 2005 and the idea came to be realized when the University was launched by the President of the Republic of Uganda, His Excellency Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, on 14th October, 2006. The National Council for Higher Education gave the University a go ahead on 6th July, 2007.

The University is internationally recognized through its collaboration with the University of Pacific and University of Tulane in the United States of America. This collaboration encourages the staff and students of the three universities to participate in exchange programmes.

Application for Admission

Application is made through filling an application form obtained at a non refundable application fee at our Kabaka Lake Campus. You may also download the application form from here and pay for it on submission.

The application form must be fully filled and the relevant academic documents attached.It must be returned to the Admissions Office of the University according to the set deadline dates obtained from the Admissions office.

Admission Requirements

If you have the minimum entry requirements listed below, then you may be admitted. However, the Admissions Board meets and decides on the applicants’ admission status. Cut points are set by the Admissions Board at its meeting, depending on the program being applied for, the number of vacancies available and the number of applicants for a particular program.

Ugandan Applicants for Degree programs should hold either

  • UCE & UACE Certificate with 2 Principal Passes OR
  • Diploma from a recognized institution of Higher Learning OR
  • A Pass in Mature Age Examination.

Post Graduate Programs applicants should hold at least

  • A good first degree from a recognized institution of higher learning relevant to the course applied for.

Other International Applicants

  • International applicants must have qualifications that are recognized for University entry in their respective countries.
