Muni University Admission To Bachelor Of Early Childhood Care And Education, And Higher Education Certificate Programmes On Private Sponsorship Scheme

The Academic Registrar Muni University invites applications from qualified persons for admission to the highlighted New Academic programmes on Private Sponsorship for Academic Year.

BACHELOR OF EARLY CHILDHOOD CARE AND EDUCATION
Programme description
The National Teacher Policy (NTP), requires that all Pre-Primary Teachers in Uganda should possess a Bachelors’ degree qualification. The programme therefore aims to train and produce professional graduates with appropriate theoretical knowledge, pedagogical
techniques/practices and values in effective early childhood care and education.

Minimum admission requirements

Eligible applicants MUST possess:
(A) Direct Entry Scheme (A’ level leavers) At least Two (2) principal passes in any principal subject at Uganda Advanced Certificate of
Education (UACE) obtained at the same sitting or its equivalent, and At least Five (5) passes at Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) obtained at the same sitting or its equivalent.
(B) Diploma holders’ Entry Scheme At least a Second Class or Credit Diploma in Education Primary or Early Childhood Education from a recognized institution.

(C) Mature Age Entry Scheme

Be 22 Years and above, and must have passed the Mature Age examination with at least a 50% mark.

The mature age examinations must have been sat at a NCHE accredited Centre, NOT more than 2 years ago.

HIGHER EDUCATION CERTIFICATE

Programme description
The overall aim of the programme is to provide entry opportunity into Diploma or Degree programmes for; candidates who performed dismally (low performance) at UACE; those who do not have appropriate qualifications based on the current national admission
criteria; and those with foreign qualifications but do not merit for admission in the Ugandan Education System. The Higher Education Certificate is a one Academic Year (i.e. Two Semesters) intensive pre-undergraduate bridging/foundational programme.

Accredited programmes under Higher Education Certificate

i) Higher Education Certificate in Humanities
ii) Higher Education Certificate in Biological Sciences
iii) Higher Education Certificate in Physical Sciences

Minimum admission requirements (Generic)

Eligible applicant MUST possess:
(A) Direct entry (Holders of UACE). Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE)
with one (1) principal pass OR at least two (2) subsidiary passes obtained in principal
subjects.
(B) Vocational Qualifications. Vocational qualifications at level 2 or level 3 of Uganda
Vocational Qualifications framework.

Holder of foreign Qualifications:

Foreign qualification of UACE equivalent with an overall grade of C (Students who obtained their Secondary School qualifications that
are not considered to be equivalent to UACE but permit admission into Higher Education in their countries) In addition, foreign students whose studies were not conducted in English shall show proof of proficiency in the English Language.

(D) Qualifications equivalent to Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) as shall be determined by the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE) and Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) where applicable.
(E) Ordinary Certificate in relevant discipline from NCHE recognized institution

Progression pathways
Progression to Diploma or Degree programmes, the following apply.
i) Diploma programmes: A person shall have passed a HEC with at least a Class III (Pass).
ii) Degree programme (Bachelors): A person shall have passed a Higher Education
Certificate with at least a Class II (Credit). Schedule of target Degree courses can be

How to Apply (ONLINE application procedure)

NOTE: The applicant MUST have active email address and a Mobile phone number.
(i) Login: https://admissions.muni.ac.ug/
(ii) Sign up using full name, e-mail and mobile number. Please note that your name must be similar to the one on your supporting documents for your application to be accepted by the system.
(iii) A password will be sent to both your e-mail and mobile telephone number.

The system will prompt you to change the password to the one you can easily remember.
(iv) To fill application form, click on the “Apply Now” button and select appropriate running scheme.
(v) Obtain a payment advice slip by clicking on “Pay for the Form” button and get a payment reference number.
(vi) Pay a non-refundable fee plus bank charge at any Bank branch (NOT Bank Agents) or through Mobile Money. Ugandans and East Africa (Incl. South Sudan): Ug. shs. 50,000 while Other Nationals: Equivalent of USD 50.
(vii) Payment of application fees SHOULD be made within the stipulated time (24 hours).
Only paid-up applications will be processed for admission purposes.
(viii) Arrangements will be made to support applicants who encounter challenges in the course of online application.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

(i) Applicants MUST scan and attach on the application portal copies of Academic Documents and Birth Certificate and/or National ID (as a single file in PDF format and not exceeding 1 MB).
(ii) Only correctly filled, complete and paid-up applications will be processed for selection and admission purposes.
(iii) All successful applicants for BED-P will commence for studies in April 2022.
(iv) The University will admit and deliver any programme only when it has realized the
required number of qualifying applicants.
(v) The fees indicated above relate to Tuition fees only, and therefore does not include
