Open University of Tanzania OUT Undergraduate Application Forms

Step 1:

To apply for Undergraduate programs, you will be required to Visit OUT Online Application System available at admission.out.ac.tz

Thereafter you will click register and fill in all required details to have direct access to OUT Online Application System (OAS). If you have ever applied at OUT previously, at this step you will be required to enter your username and password in order to log in into our application system.

Step 2:

At this stage our beloved applicant, you will be required to fill in your personal information as it has been directed.

Step 3:

After filling in your personal details, in the next stage, you will be required to pay

·application fee in order to proceed with your application to the next step.

Therefore you will click a button of payment and then you will be given a control number which you will use it for paying a total of 10,000/= TZS as an application fee. (This figure is subject to change)

After payment is successfully done you will see a status of successful Payment of which you will be allowed to continue to the next step. Kindly note that payments are easily done through AIRTEL MONEY; TIGO PESA; M-PESA; CRDB BANK; NMB BANK.

Step 4:

At this stage (Academic Results), you will be required to attach your form four and form six results as indicated. For the equivalent applicant, you will attach your Form Four results. In the section attaching form Six results, you will fill in your Award Verification Number (AVN) in the space of the index number accreditated by NACTE in order to allow our system to fetch your respective Diploma results.

Steps 5:

At this stage (Apply for Programme), you will be required to apply for a program of your choice as directed depending on your choices.

In case you are not much familiar with entry requirements for a program you wish to apply to, OUT has put in place academic qualifications and requirements that give the potential applicant eligibility for the program applicant wishes to apply. Eligibility for our Undergraduate programmes is aligned with the Tanzania Commission for University (TCU) minimum entry requirements.

Step 6:

This is the last stage of your application process ( Review and Submit ), at this step, you have been given a chance to review your filled information in each step: if there are any corrections you will be able to edit before submitting, if there will be no corrections you will submit your application package for further execution.

Instructions on how to use Online Application System

For first-time applicants:

Fill out the application form. On Entry category field:

For Tanzanians:

- Select Direct Applicant for form six (06) leavers regardless of the year of completion.
- Select Equivalent Applicant for diploma (for degree applicant) or certificate (for Diploma applicants) holder.
- Select Applicants with FTC for applicants with FTC Certificates

For Foreigners:

- Select Equivalent Applicant. You can log out at any stage after registration and log in later to complete the application.NOTE:
  - Fields with (*) are mandatory.
  - Mobile numbers should be written in this format 0XXXXXXXXX example 0788347788 or 0657556678.

Existing applicants.

These are applicants who have already registered to a system.
Use the username and password obtained from previous registration to log in to the system at any time.

NECTA FORM Four and FORM Six Index Numbers should be written in the following format: S0XXX/XXXX/YYYY or P0XXX/XXXX/YYYY.

Example: S0750/0023/2013 or P0750/0023/2017.

An applicant will be able to Login after completing Registration.
Registration enables the applicant to create an account in this system and obtain Username and Password.
Registration should only be done once. After completion, the applicant should only log in using obtained username and password.
When logged in applicant will be able to make an application fee payment and complete the application.
Online applications will only be visible for filling once the application fee is paid using a CONTROL NUMBER that will be provided.
In order to successfully complete the application; an applicant is required to complete all steps from Home to Submit your application.

Note: Applicant’s Username will be auto-generated by a system after application submission and will appear in the following format:

NECTA FORM Four Index Number followed by a year of application, i.e.

: S0XXX/XXXX/yyyy/YYYY or P0XXX/XXXX/yyyy/YYYY

e.g S0751/0023/2016/2020 or P0751/0023/2016/2020

An applicant is advised to change the password to an easy-to-remember password so as to avoid inconveniences.
